The Halfway Point

Today I start my 20th week of pregnancy. I'm halfway there!! Not only that, but I am still moving just fine. I feel so blessed.

We had our ultrasound today. Gender is confirmed. :) Baby Boy is healthy and everything looks good. It was sweet to see him all curled up, although he was extremely squished into one corner. There was plenty of room for him to spread out if he wanted to. I guess he's not claustrophobic.

As I consider other news to share, nothing seems important compared to a healthy baby!!

But, for memory's sake:

  • Jacob started a sports class this week. His first "event" since the cast has come off. He was so excited and a little nervous.
  • Robby's water bottle boat won 1st place at the cub scout Raingutter Regata. Check out that smile!
  • Robby got braces on his top 6 teeth (technically 5 teeth, since the 6th needs to grow in!). He looks pretty cute in his blue braces - although if you tell him he looks good he will roll his eyes and keep his lips closed.
  • Erica has started to babysit her brothers. We pay her a little bit per hour (I'm too embarrassed to admit just how little that is...) It is heaven to have a child old enough to babysit!
  • I'm still feeling good!! I know I mention this every blog post, but I'm continually amazed at how little pelvic pain I have. Every night in my prayers I thank God for blessing me with one more day of mobility. I'll take as little or as much as He is willing to give. Unfortunately, this means I still have to do laundry.
  • Erica and I went to the Stadium of Fire on the 4th of July. We had a fabulous time. It's my first time going in many years and also my first time going without my grandparents, who shaped much of my patriotism. Kelly Clarkson did a fantastic job. The fireworks were beautiful. The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. We were able to walk home from the stadium...it is so nice to live so close.

  • I finally bought our baby's first outfit.

  • Zoe got a bath -- Rob likes to give her baths (Erica can do it now, too!). I have to laugh at how scrawny and pitiful she looks when she's soaked.
  • I'm dubbing this the "Summer of Frozen Yogurt!"
  • While writing this post, we got not one, but TWO cookie deliveries! I better go eat one before they are gone...

  1. It sounds like you are having a fabulous summer. I'm so glad your pregnancy is going well. I love that David can watch the kids for just a little for me. I'm sure Erica is a great babysitter!
