We went on a trip to the Oregon Coast about five years ago. Rob and I have been trying to figure out how to get back ever since the day we left. This was truly our first vacation as a family. We rented a house right on the beach (very literally) for a week and enjoyed every minute. Usually, by the end of a trip, I am ready to get home. Not this time. I could have stayed anywhere from 3 more days to another 2 weeks. Life was so simple and hearing/seeing the ocean out of every window was so relaxing. There is something just awesome about the power of the ocean and this world that God created.
On our drive to Oregon, we saw some pretty skies.
We stopped at the Tillamook Cheese factory. Lots of samples...
...and yummy ice cream! I'm hoping they have "Tillamook Mudslide" here in our local grocery store.
There were some really cool bridges.
This was our first night on the beach. We arrived just as the sun was setting.
The four people my world revolves around.
Our first morning in Yachats was pretty foggy. That didn't stop us.
We found lots of crab pieces on the beach -- we found out that a lot of this is due to Dungenous crabs molting.
We got a lot of use out of our $1 sand shovels.
I know his eyes are closed, but check out that SMILE!
Erica was the most adventurous as far as getting in the water. She never has been afraid of discomfort. The water is actually colder in the summer due to the high winds blowing the top (warmer) water and churning up the water from below. Brrrrrrr!
