Liebster Award

My cousin Kallie nominated me for the Liebster Blog Award. It's a little ironic as it is an award for someone that doesn't post as much on their blog as you'd like them to. Ha!

(Liebster is a German word that means favorite. This award is passed from one blogger to another as a way to tell them that you enjoy reading their blog--and they should keep it up!) 

Here is what I have to do as a result of my nomination (I decided some of these are optional):

1. Post 11 random things about myself.
2. Answer the 11 questions my nominator set for me.
3. Create 11 questions for my nominees.
4. Nominate 11 other bloggers with fewer than 200 followers (no tag-backs).
5. Go to each of their blogs to tell them about their nominations.

11 random things about myself:
1. I always read while I blow dry my hair -- call me a multitasker.

2. I love all things Mario, Yoshi, & Toad.

3. I love doing our taxes.

4. I'm a wimp when it comes to driving in snow.

5. I like Wendy's junior bacon cheeseburgers.

6. I have a jigsaw puzzle buying obsession and probably own about 30 puzzles I haven't done yet.

7. I hate getting family pictures taken almost as much as I hate potty training.

8. I create our elementary school newsletter and in Seattle, I created our school yearbook.

9. I won't share drinks or anything eaten with a spoon (ice cream, cereal, etc.) and I won't take a bite of anything on a child's plate.

10. I usually only like books with happy endings.

Kallie's 11 Questions:
1. What is your favorite toothpaste? I actually try a new toothpaste every time a tube runs out. I've never found one I loved, but I can tell you that I will not share a toothpaste tube with anyone.
2. How do you eat Totinos pizza rolls? (i.e. do you have a certain method?) I've NEVER had one!
3. What is your favorite party game? Farkle, Scum, and Settlers
4. How long since you got your last traffic ticket and what was it for? Last summer, a police officer wrote me a warning for parking in the wrong spot at a cub scout event (he told me I was lucky it was him because the other officers don't issue warnings)...come to find out 6 months later he accidentally wrote me a ticket! I had to pay the ticket AND the fine even though I never got the ticket in the first place. 
5. When do you take down Christmas cards? I never hang them up...but I do save them all until the next year.
6. Who was the last person you hugged? My daughter, Erica.
7. Where was your last vacation? San Diego with Rob just last weekend. A short vacation, but one with sun, the beach, amazing cookies, the San Diego temple, and the San Diego Zoo!
8. When do you wake up on weekends? Around 8:30 if the kids quietly turn on a movie when they get up.
9. What is one talent most people don't know you have? I am quite good at the computer game Civilization (I discovered it in junior high in Tokyo) and still play it on a weekly basis.
10. What is your preference - American Idol/The Voice/The X Factor/America's Got Talent? Britain's Got Talent - everything is more entertaining with a British accent.
11.Why do you blog (or not)? I've always loved to write, but once I joined Facebook, I found that quicker and a more efficient comment-generator. :)
