During this time of year, I'm often bogged down by so many things...programs, recitals, parties, shopping, projects, volunteering, etc. Sometimes I forget to smell the roses. Here are a few of the "roses":
- Watching the two little birds that like to come and sit on our front-door Christmas wreath
- My kids' faces lighting up when they get to feed the bunny, Snowflake-Bacon (our weekend guest, courtesy of BYU preschool)
- The opportunity to provide Christmas for an 11-yr-old girl who needs snow boots and pajamas
- Laughing with Rob after a stressful day
- Robby finding both of his winter coats that were very lost for over a month (I'd even gone door to door in the elementary school classrooms, thinking someone might have picked his up by mistake)
- My mom agreeing to watch our kids for a few days over Christmas break so we can take a much needed break
- Living 3-blocks from my brother, sister-in-law, 4 adorable nieces, and a nephew that calls me "Jooie"
- A friend inviting my kids over to play so I could have some productive quiet time
- Learning patience while Jacob listens to "The Twelve Days of Christmas" over and over. And over.
- Playing Christmas piano duets with Erica
Great list Julie - and you're absolutely right. I think we all get bogged down this time of year and forget to stop and be still for a while. Thanks for the reminder! Miss you guys.
