While in Arizona, we visited one of our favorite parks. There is no playground, but there are lots of walls and interesting climbing structures. Plus a big lake with tons of ducks, turtles, fishing, etc. You can walk out on the dock. There are cacti, which delighted my kids (Erica kept tapping her finger on the pricklies proclaiming it didn't hurt) as well as lots of other plants. The best part is that my fabulous sister, Laura, and her friend, Jeff, came to visit that weekend!! We had a great time with them. La is amazing and beautiful and my kids love her. Plus they introduced me to Rumbi's chocolate cake. And to "Psych," a very funny TV show.
Isn't this picture adorable? It made me realize I don't take many candid shots. It was partly posed, but mostly candid. We were finding turtles and watching the ducks. Can you tell my mom LOVES these kids?
Here are a few pictures of Erica and Aunt La. I think they both secretly (or not so secretly) like to pose for pictures, so they make a good pair:Here is a picture of Robby and Jeff. Jeff was so patient with my kids and they really had a great time playing with him.
Here's Grandma Nancy with the kids. The architecture is so random! Especially the green ball coming out of my mom's leg. :)
Here is my dare-devil daughter. Ever since she was two, she was always climbing on everything. Life is never boring with Erica around!
Here are the sisters...I SO wish we lived closer!! We have such a great time together and I find myself feeling younger when I'm with her. I'm on a get-Laura-to-move-to-Seattle campaign. Here's La trying very patiently to win over Jacob. By the end of the weekend, he cracked a small smile. ;)
This is one of our favorite things to do with my mom. She is a piano teacher and very musically talented. Growing up, we had tons of fun gathering around the piano and singing. We still do. It's great to watch her do this with my kids!

Here's a picture of me and Amber. She looks as good as she did four years ago. I look like I went through a rough pregnancy and still can't exercise. ;)
Stay tuned for homemade lemonade, E&R riding a mini ferris wheel, and a picture worthy of a Sonic commercial...one more Arizona post to go!
Such fun pictures! And I have those Fisher Price stack n' roll cups and LOVE them too! We're taking them on vacation next week. ;-)
ReplyDeleteJulie, you are crazy friend! I love the sound of that park...you'll have to give me the scoop on where to find it! Also, it was no problem at all to come see you guys! We wanted to see you again :o) I have been telling everyone how fun it was to get back together, and how keeping up through our blogs made it not awkward at all! I love it :o) I totally forgot about that cop pulling you over! I was laughing when I read that. Anyway, you look super good too, especially for having such a rough time with your last pregnancy. You are amazing so don't sell yourself short! It was so fun and you'll have to let us know for sure if you ever decide to come down again :o)
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you had such a great time. Those pictures make me too excited for park weather!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like fun! You look great, by the way. I still don't know how you went through all that and kept smiling. Your kids are adorable-very smiley, just like you. :)
ReplyDeleteI wish they would build parks like tht one in Utah. What a great place for pictures too. Kids seems to have that natural desire to climb anything and it's noce when they're actually allowed to do it. i love the picture with your mom playing the piano with your kids. That will be a fun memory for both of them. Kids learn so much through music even when they're young!
ReplyDeleteI looks like you had a great trip and it is fun to keep up on what is happening with your family. I am glad you got the time off and a fun break with the kids.
