Hi everyone! Check back soon to see pictures of Jacob doing yoga! :) Also, scroll down to the last post for more of Erica's modern art. I added two more pictures, so now there are four.
Last week we drove up north to a pumpkin patch - it was a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon - so I think that at least a fifth of Seattle was at the same pumpkin patch. :) But it was huge, so it didn't feel too crowded. This farm focused on the harvest and not the scary aspects of Halloween. They had a "hay maze" in the barn for kids, which is much more doable than a corn maze for us. They also had a large petting zoo, playground, fishing, and of course, the pumpkin patch. On our way home, the freeway was closed, so we took back roads and highways. The colors were beautiful and it amazed Rob and I how rural and relaxed life felt just thirty minutes away from a big city. The scenery was amazing.
We've been keeping track of how much the large pumpkins weigh at the grocery store - the heaviest we've seen was 161 lbs -- this one blew that away!!
Rob took this picture to prove that I was happy in rural-ville...don't tell anyone
I loved the landscaping in the yard - especially the little pond
Erica has become a much better monkey since starting kindergarten
Robby is learning to climb without help - he made it up triumphantly!
Robby was more intrigued by the gross maggoty pumpkin than anything else at the patch
This is my FAVORITE picture!
Here is the proof for later generations that Jacob and I both went on all family outings:
This picture is blurry, but it is one of the few times that Robby's true smile made it on camera. Isn't he darling?
Ever since Erica started school, we notice bunnies a lot more, since she has one in her classroom
Compare that fun to what my kids are doing right now...can we say Saturday morning cartoons?
The whole ward must have gone their last weekend...we were there in the morning and saw the Stoners, Spackmans, and Garcias!
ReplyDeleteWe just went to a pumpkin patch this past week, too. It was raining the whole time and was miserable...you woulda thunk it would be like that in WA, eh? It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. What a fun family you have. :)

ReplyDeleteHey Julie, we loved these photos. Layla liked the photo of erica in the hay. I love the giant pumpkins, we haven't seen any really big ones around here. I liked the photo of your kids in the chair watching cartoons, it was adorable.
ReplyDeleteI am still waiting for Robby's Yoga pictures! :)
ReplyDeleteI love fall--I'm sure I would be loving it even more right now in WA!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day and perfect weather for the pumpkin patch! Trey and I went with some friends to a pumpkin patch here, but it wasn't nearly as extravagant. There was a hayride, and animals, and of course we got to pick out a pumpkin, so it was good enough for us. Plus we also had beautiful sunny weather. Taking a break from moving right now--we closed on our house yesterday! :)
