1. Not one, but TWO library summer reading programs and lots o' trips to the library (which incidentally means lots of library fines).
2. Sitting on the porch with Rob after the kids are in bed. We'll make great 80-yr-olds one day.
3. Summer camps. As a kid, I always "played" summer camp. Now I'm living vicariously through my kids!

4. Family. Lots more time to play with cousins, seeing family from out of town, and opening "Hotel Schonlau" (aka our basement apartment).
5. The kids renewed energy for their chore charts and allowances, since we focus on them a lot more in the summer.
6. Half-price slushes at Sonic during Happy Hour.
7. Going places. Our two destinations this summer: Lake Tahoe & the Oregon Coast
8. Fresh fruit
9. Summer flowers, especially the ones in our yard.

10. Bugs (as long as they do not enter my house). Isn't summer supposed to be about dirt and catching bugs? If so, my kids (and my dog) are performing well.
EWWWW!!!!!!!!!!! That could be Sol! He LOVES licking up ants, and we get to comb their corpses (and alive ones) out of his muzzle after. It's SO gross!!!
