Snowdown!!

WOW!! In the last five years of living in Seattle, I think the longest snow has "stuck" is about 24-36 hours. We've had snow for nine days and it's not going anywhere! It has snowed 8 inches in the last 36 hours. The kids essentially had an extra week off of school and since Seattle only has 27 snowplows (literally), the city is completely crippled.

The good things:
- Seattle is already a gorgeous city - imagine it covered in snow. It's gorgeous!
- the snow is awesome packing snow
- our tap water is FINALLY cold enough!
- our power is still on!!
- I already had my Christmas shopping and wrapping done!
- it's a great excuse to drink hot chocolate five times a day

Enjoy the pictures!

This was the first day it snowed - Erica was catching snowflakes on black paper. At this point, we wanted to be sure and play in it before it melted...

The kids were using brooms and shovels to make a big snowpile. Now the entire complex is one big snowpile!
Finishing the 6-ft, cucumber-mouthed snowman with our friends, the Taffs
It took both men to lift to middle ball!

Erica is the only one of us who had snow-clothes that were recently given to her by a friend who had outgrown them
Maddy, Moses, and erica cruising down the hill on a makeshift snowboard sled
Erica and Jacob...this kid trusts his big sister a lot
When put on the sled, Jacob preferred to lay down
What a great smile - Robby was very excited!

  1. We had such a fun day with you guys and the snow. Sorry we pooped out instead of Wii at the CC. We are not used to this much snow excitment! Hopefully the girls will get a little more play in before we head to Olympia and then we'll be back for more fun Friday!

  9. Wow! Looks like so much fun. We are missing the snow here in Houston. We had snow last week for about 3 hours and it was gone soon after it fell. Your kids are so adorable.

  13. The kids sure looked like they really enjoyed playing in the snow! I couldn't get Madi to touch the snow. She kept on saying, "no snow. no like snow."
