Here is the newest member of our family: A 2007 Kia Sedona. We love it so much. Thanks for all your mini-van advice. And thank you to Laura who works at Enterprise and got us a great no-haggle deal!
Erica keeps telling everyone she sees that she has a mini-van. Then she proceeds to invite them over since they can now fit in our car. :) Everytime we go inside a building and then walk back to the parking lot Robby says, "here we go to our mini-van." It's made an impression.
If you are in the mini-van market, but don't have a ton of money to spend, check out the Kia Sedona. It is consistently about $5,000 cheaper than other vans, but since 2006 it is rated as high as the Odyssey and Sienna for safety, satisfaction, and up-keep. It has slightly higher gas mileage and doesn't have the automatic doors. But one thing I think is very cool is that the huge middle windows (the ones on the sliding door) actually go down!
Ten years ago (when I was graduating from high school, incidentally) I never would have seen myself as a mother of three kids, living in Seattle, proudly driving a mini-van. =)

Hooray!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the new van! You'll love having more space. It's about time someone made those big windows slide down. Ithink a van and 3 kids look good on you! :o)
ReplyDeleteA big congrats to you guys! I'm so happy for you! I can only think about how nice it would be not to have to squish all of our kids into a tiny little car...maybe someday!
ReplyDeleteYay for the new van!! I am jealous. I aspire to have a mini-van someday. ;-) Lucky ducks!
ReplyDeletecongrats on the van, it will make life better! (or so I've heard)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the minivan club! We have badges and t-shirts, I hope the dealership gave those to you. Also there's a secret handshake, I'll have to show it to you at the reuinion (if you go). :) I never thought I'd have a minivan either, but they really do rock!
ReplyDeleteyay...congrats! (even me, the unmarried with no kids liked driving the old family minivan my dad had - but I'm definitely not ready for my own yet ;) The Kia Sedona is amazing -- you should have seen all the things I crammed in the one I rented when I moved...
ReplyDeleteThose windows are awesome...I actually saw this for the first time yesterday on may way home!
enjoy your van!
I truly am so happy for you.
