You know the one - where you feel unmotivated, exhausted, and keep having thoughts of switching places with your spouse.
- Jacob won't nap for more than twenty minutes because of a nasty cough, not to mention the fact that he is covered in mucus from hair to sock
- At least seven loads of clean laundry are stacked in every room (except the kitchen)
- It's a typical Seattle winter day - dreary, wet, and dark
- We are out of bread and chocolate
- I made five cards last night and don't feel like any of them are good enough for the school auction I am donating to
- My card blog officially has more hits than this blog
- I ordered two pairs of shoes from Endless.com, but they don't fit
- I've been waiting a month and a half to see my OB about my remaining pelvic pain - they just called to reschedule for March 19!
- I desperately need a really good book
In an attempt to cheer myself up:
- My friend Julie V. is coming to visit tonight & she's bringing her 3 month old baby, Audrey
- I'm getting together with friends tonight - yay!
- My friend, Anna, is taking Erica to her ballet class
- My other friend offered to drive Robby to and from preschool today (thanks, Barbara!)
- The flowers Rob bought me started blooming
- The dirty dishes are all rinsed
- Erica has made our family ten Valentines cards, six of which say "I love you Mom!"
- Robby did puzzles with me today
- Jacob is letting me type while he sits in my lap
- Okay - I have food, clothes, a warm apartment, a car, high speed internet, great friends, and a fabulous family
Robby said the funniest thing today. Picture him in a very thoughtful, serious voice: "I don't know everything. (dramatic pause, furrowed eyebrows) But I know the things that I know." We also spent twenty minutes discussing why Robin Hood (in the Disney cartoon) is not considered a bad guy.
Any day when you're out of chocolate is a bad day;)!!! I'm glad you have a lot to cheer you up!
ReplyDeleteThose days are the hardest to get through but at least you were able to enjoy parts of the day. I have to agree with Emma though, anyday without chocolate has to be a bad day. (= Hope tomorrow is a better day for you.
ReplyDeleteIt must we this time of year...having sick kids is a drag and some days seem to take forever. I keep looking forward to spring. But you're right, good friend and family make the mundane bearable.
ReplyDeleteSorry you're having one of "those" days. You can cheer yourself up by counting down until my visit...I've already made my paper chain!! :)
ReplyDeletecall me if you ever want to chat...
you need a "good book" about someone elses depressing life, then you'll feel so much better! :) Actually I think the other cheerful things you listed are better.
ReplyDeleteOh the life of a stay at home mom! I love reading about all of your adventures!
ReplyDeleteJulie your awesome, we all love you, if you need chocolate you can call me, duh? And your boy is adorable! P.S. I hope you are enjoying my stamps! :)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this kind of day sounds all too familiar :) Who knew this was what we signed up for as moms?! I hope your night with friends cheered you up and I hope that they brought you some chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI'll start checking your blog every hour or so to help boost your hits... how about that? :-) You are such a trooper. I am glad you are able to see the brighter things, even when the day seems glum!
ReplyDeleteRobbie is a smart little guy! I love the wisdom of pre-schoolers. Good thing you are writing the gems they say down! Seems like every phase of life as a version of "one of those days"!
