Family, Film, and Food!

After a long week of various illnesses, we decided to have some FUN!

We discovered if we put the card table on the floor without setting it up, it can serve as a picnic table. No washing a blanket! I just love that Erica appreciates her slippers almost as much as I appreciate mine!

Thanks for all your movie recommendations...we tried "Ice Age" (Rob & I seen it before) and the kids were both pretty scared. But Rob and I enjoyed it! :) Robby was still holding his original piece of pizza one hour and fifteen minutes after the movie started.

I think we'll make this a tradition a few weekends a month. Now I need to come up with a name...Pizza Friday? Lazy-Parents-Who-Don't-Want-to-Make-Dinner Night? How about Nightmare Movie Night?

  2. We have the sick baby here too. I like the idea of making it a family "tradition". I should try that. How about just "family movie night" or "family fun night".

    I miss IBC rootbeer!

  3. LOL...I love the whole pizza in his hand for over an hour. Sounds like my Adam. Sorry they were scared of Ice Age though. It wasn't one of my kids favorites. I do hope that you are able to find some movies that you do like though. I love the idea of a tradition in the making. Great idea about the card table!

  4. We do that about once a month or so. We did it last night! We borrowed "The Brave Little Toaster to the Rescue" from the library. It was cute, harmless, and a little cheesy. Imagine songs about the internet when it was brand new (1988).

  5. Julie,
we do it once a week on Friday. We either watch a movie or do something else fun as a family and eat pizza. I know pizza is easy to buy and you can get it really cheep but if you want a GREAT recipe for a GREAT sauce and crust let me know. I have spent years in search of such a thing and finally feel like I have it or at least what we think is. Also we call it Friday Fun Night OR Family Fun Night. It really makes for a great way to end the week!

  6. Way to go! I love cute family fun. So, I think my boys are on their
5th cold this winter. Stop the pain!

  7. Fun? But I see green stuff on their plates. Do they eat the green stuff? I love movie nights (and green stuff). Our DVD investments really paid off that week that the boys had influenza. I love that Robby was still hangin' on to that pizza over an hour after it started.
