Super WHY to the Rescue!

I was going to put the new show "Super WHY!" (on PBS) as one of my latest discoveries on my sidebar. Then I decided it deserves it's own post.

This is the first time I have been really impressed by a children's television show in a few years. "Super Why" is all about learning to read. The main characters are storybook heroes - they have an everyday challenge (siblings throwing tantrums, friends knocking down their block towers, etc) and they figure out the solution by jumping into a story (Jack and the Beanstalk, 3 Little Pigs, etc) and changing the story so that everyone ends up happy. They focus on learning letters, sounds, and making reading fun. I feel like my kids actually learn something and it also appeals to their love of super-heroes. My kids love it and (except for the theme song, which keeps playing in my head over and over...) I do too!

Have any of you seen "Super WHY!"? If so, what are your thoughts?
