Recitals & Roller-skating

We love music around here. LOVE. (We have to, as Rob and I got to know each other playing piano duets in college!) One of the greatest joys of my life is listening to my children learn to play the piano. Their practice and hard-work has paid off. Here they are at their piano recitals.

p.s. Make sure you watch Jacob's roller skating video at the end of this post!

Robby playing my favorite Christmas solo music, Pachabel's Christmas, all from memory. Pardon the background sounds - he takes piano from a piano studio that teaches Let's Play Music classes, so the recital was full of lots of little kids.

He also played A Child's Prayer, in which he wrote a part putting the two verses together, just like we sing it.

My dad and Jan braved the sleet and freezing rain to come and see him perform.

Erica playing Silent Night - she is taught by one of my best friends, Cheri.

She also played What Child is This?

Erica was also asked by their school choir director to lead the school choir while the director led the audience. She did great!

Per his request, Rob is teaching Jacob how to play the piano. Since I don't have a video of that, check out this video of his first time roller-skating. Yep, his first time. (Kudos to Rob for skating and recording at the same time!) Jacob never does anything halfway. =)
