Oregon Coast: Part 3 - BEACH DAY!

We dubbed Wednesday our "Beach Day." No plans but to hit the beach. Here is the view from our house as well as the house itself.

Here are some fun beach pictures:

When we went to the Oregon Coast 5 years ago, Rob had the idea to create a sand fortress that was big enough to sit in, one that had walls to block out the tide as the tide rolled in. Here is a sneak peak at the original sand fortress from 2008:

Fast forward to July 2013, and this is SAND FORTRESS #1 (there are a few more versions to come):

Some people opt for those Wal-mart $1 plastic shovels. Not my Rob.
One of the coolest things happened after we put up this sign and went in for dinner. People from across the beach brought over seaweed and other ocean decorations to jazz up the fortress. It became quite the community project! Note the huge strips of seaweed.
 The water turning tides.

Rob relaxing after a job well done.

  1. Super awesome idea, Rob! We need more beach fun ideas (should we ever see a beach again. Sort of miss that being landlocked.) Great pics... :)
